I felt the sun upon my face

drying my tears

chasing my fears

far away into outer space.

I feel its energy

giving me energy

and I know I am ready

to feel

to love

to fly

to try

this feeling is worthwhile.

Although it won’t last

I want to bask...in its goodness

My heart's beating fast

because for once I felt happiness

that’s deep

that’s strong

that’s true

like me and you.

Although life is short

and we are the dust in the wind

I will try and do my part

and follow the path

that leads to love and life.
